The base or cart is built first so the cooking body has a stable support. Wheels, casters, cabinet panels, doors and side shelves are installed according to the product sequence, with attention to which side receives controls, fuel storage or accessory mounts.
Finished panels can scratch if they are laid directly on a hard surface, so the assembly area should provide room to protect them while hardware is installed. Doors and shelves are checked for alignment after the frame is square.
Burners, Grates and Included Components
Burners, heat shields, grease trays, grates, warming racks and smoker components are positioned as the manufacturer specifies. These parts are not interchangeable simply because they fit inside the cooking chamber; their order affects airflow, heat distribution and access for cleaning.
Manufacturer-supplied electrical plugs or simple controller connections can be placed as part of normal setup. Altering gas piping, hardwiring electrical components or modifying the appliance system is outside basic assembly.
Mobility and Stability Check
For grills with casters or wheels, the completed cart can be rolled a short distance to confirm the wheels turn and locks engage where provided. Legs, shelves and handles are checked for obvious looseness, and the unit should sit without assembly-related rocking.
